Sleepy Cole

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Cole’s sleep patterns are getting better but they are still not perfect. He has a hard time going to sleep before 10:00 or 11:00 pm (the not so perfect part), but is sleeping at least 5 hours at a time, and once this week he slept 8 1/2 hours straight through the night. If his parents could get him to go to sleep earlier, his mommy wouldn’t feel like she’s wasting her days away by sleeping when Cole is sleeping. His usual wake-up time is 10:00 or 11:00 am.

We wish he’d go to sleep as easily at night as he does during the day. It takes a lot of coaxing and soothing to get him to go to sleep at night.

Lucy loves anything that is Cole’s. We’re hoping he won’t mind as he gets older.

Living the good life

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Coleman’s living the good life, and so is his mommy who loves staying home with him. She’ll be returning to work in June and is trying to enjoy every moment. If she could just take him to the gym, life would be complete.

Coleman has received many gifts, some of which are pictured here:

A duckie gown from Kate and Colin Donovan.

A froggie onesie and pants with webbed feet from Brian’s clients, the Wippels.

A peekabo outfit from Lisa’s mother, Penny.

An orchid from Mark and Don in Austin. Cole’s parents really miss Austin.

We’re putting Cole on his stomach every day so he can build upper body strength.

Mommy’s friend Debbie from Austin came to Vegas last weekend. She is a natural with babies.

Two Months Old

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

Cole is two months old today, which is his Uncle Paul’s birthday. Happy 26th Birthday Uncle Paul!!! Today, Cole had an appointment with his pediatrician. The good news is that he’s 11 lbs 6 oz and 23 inches long, which falls in the 50th percentile. He isn’t growing too fast or too slow. Yea for breastfeeding! The bad news is that the mark near the corner of his right eye is a hemangioma and may not go away until he’s 3 or 4 years old. Luckily, it’ll go away without having to be treated. Cole received his first shots today - 3 in his thigh - and he took it like a trooper.

Two months ago from when these pics were taken, Cole’s Mommy was in labor. It seems like it was years ago!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Monday, March 5th, 2007

Brian’s birthday was last Thursday, and we celebrated by eating at Sonio’s with Mari, Kim, Cindy and Dan from the custom homes division. We drove to L.A. that night to spend the weekend with Grandma Wendy and Grandpa Richard. Cole was with us while we ate out a total of 5 times. Cole either slept through the meals or was content with different people holding him.

That night we ate at Toscana, and Hannah, Cole’s third cousin once removed, held Cole.

On Saturday night, we had dinner with Jack and Pearl at the Grill on the Alley.

We’ve had a difficult time catching Cole’s smile with our camera. This is our best attempt to date.
