Jackson Hole

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Cole just went on his first “official” vacation to Jackson Hole, WY. Even though he’d already been on three plane flights, this trip seemed like the first real vacation. Although he spent most of his time indoors at the house we rented, he enjoyed having lots of space to roam around. He especially loved our bedroom where there were bunk beds and cubby holes to crawl into. There were also many bathrooms to explore as well as two dogs - one to terrorize (Lucy) and one to be terrorized by (Trucker). Cole got lots of attention from his grandparents and aunt and uncle. He also got to see live music twice. We can already tell this kid is going to be one heck of a dancer.

When we arrived at the house, a moose and her baby were hanging out in the back.

Cole’s mommy and grandfather went on a snowshoe tour with great views of the Tetons.

He eventually warms up to the idea of the snow and somewhat enjoys being propped up on the snow bank.

The look in Cole’s eyes says “Mommy, this is fun but can we please go in now?”

13 Months Old

Sunday, February 10th, 2008

Cole has been on a lot of outings in the past few weeks. He went to his first birthday party (besides his own), to Mount Charleston after it snowed, to the Las Vegas zoo to antagonize the chimp, and to the shark reef at the Mandalay Bay. He’s a very happy kid and only gets cranky if he has to be in the house all day. He’s especially been enjoying Lucy lately, and Lucy will run circles around him just to get him to laugh.

Cole with Daddy at Mount Charleston. It was difficult getting him bundled up enough for the cold. He’s got three layers on, but it’s hard to know how to cover his face.

Cole and Mikaela at her first birthday party. Her parents gave her a big red velvet cake with lots of icing, and Cole was jealous. He wondered why he didn’t get icing on his little birthday cupcake.

Aunt Jillian thought it’d be fun for Cole to ride Trucker.

It’d been a while since Cole had his picture taken in the tub. We have to keep doing this so we can attempt to embarrass him when he’s older.
