The Beginning School

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

Cole’s first day at the Meadows Beginning School was August 23. He’s really liking school, even though the person he liked the best was moved into the four-year old group because she was too advanced. Except for Scarlet, he didn’t know anyone’s name for the first two weeks, but now he can rattle off at least three names of the 15 children in his class. Cole often wants to count things, and he’s been very interested in how to spell the names of his toys. The only area we’ve been told that he could improve (after his first week) is his fine motor skills. Basically, he’s not great at using scissors, but he’s getting better every day!

Cole and Gabby love the tea set that Gayle gave them.

Sometimes they really act like they love each other. It’s difficult now to get Cole to take a picture where he’s acting normal. Hopefully it’s just a phase!

Ever since Cole went to dance camp, he’s been a way more expressive dancer. Here’s proof:

Video: Cole gets down
Can you believe that this was Brian’s swimsuit? It’s held up well for 30 years!

Video: Cole acts goofy on the diving board (reminds me of myself at my grandparents!)

Even though it looks like he’s drowning, Cole treads water quite well.

Cole loves the ladybug towel that I thought only Gabby would like. Thank God we got two!

Cole finishes a dinosaur floor puzzle (with a little help from his Mommy).

I got one decent shot of one of my kids with Granny Gigi. I thought taking pictures of them was going to get easier as they got older!

Cole sets up a tea tiki hut to greet our guests on Labor Day weekend. Would you like a spot of tea?

Cole has actually said he’d like to sleep in the cardboard box that Randall sent us. Cole said it’d be “comfortable.”

Like I said earlier, taking good pictures is hard!

You can’t tell from this picture, but Cole really loves the makeover that his Daddy did to his swing set.

Deep in thought . . .
